The role requires the provision of quality and compliant Statements of Advice ensuring the content of the plan is relevant, valuable and appropriate for the Client’s investment strategy and risk appetite.
The role incumbent must be competent in financial advice strategies and industry regulations both in the UAE and UK and be well-informed on products and services available in the market. They must have a high level of skill in financial planning software
to construct SOAs and ROAs. The paraplanner is required to display a high level of technical competency, problem solving skills, attention to detail, initiative, and organisational skills.
Responsibilities
- Preparing advice documents, including (but not limited to) Statements of Advice, Records of Advice and Value Propositions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations regarding financial advice
- Adhering to budgets for produced documents
- Ensure turnaround times and deadlines are appropriately managed
- Researching existing and potential replacement products in order to prepare the most appropriate recommendation for a client in an advice document. Eg product comparisons, insurance analysis and quoting, contacting funds for information
- Ensure advice is prepared in accordance with our licence policies and guidelines
- Where in-house capacity exhausted, outsource advice documents to external paraplanners, managing enquiries and turnaround times, and ensuring quality and compliance of documents prepared
- Manage relationship with external paraplanners and virtual assistants to ensure consistent delivery of services, within agreed timeframes and fee agreements
- Additional back office support to Senior Management i.e diary management & co-ordination
- Liaising with Private Wealth Directors to determine strategic outcomes to be demonstrated in advice documents
- Performing quality and compliance reviews of advice documents, internally and externally, to ensure high levels of quality are maintained
- Complete projects identified for the overall team to enhance services within the team or wider business
- Attend both client and Partner meetings both internally and externally
- Provide administrative support to Planners and Client Support in the preparation of advice (eg insurance quotes, additional research information)
- Remain up-to-date on AMP approved products and services
- Regularly review, understand and apply DFSA and FCA compliance standards
- CISI Level IV or equivalent (preferred)
- Strong IT Literacy, including Microsoft Office
Experience Requirements
- 2-3 years’; experience in a paraplanning role
- Client facing customer service / business development experience to assist with
understanding of delivering advice documents that suit client needs - Experience working in a small to medium enterprise environment
- Experience with wealth management products desirable, but not mandatory
- Experience working under DFSA or FCA regulation desirable, but not mandatory
- Experience using Wealthcraft or a similar CRM
- Experience with using CashCalc, Voyant or a similar financial planning software
- Exposure to working with external paraplanning teams desirable, but not mandatory
