Alison Whatnall is a founding partner and Group Chief Operating Officer at GSB, leading the company’s growth strategy and driving its impact initiatives. With a 15-year background in oil and gas, Alison held leadership roles in major corporations, where she focused on strategic development and business sustainability. She has been living and working in the UAE for over a decade. In addition to her extensive industry expertise, Alison holds several accounting qualifications, including AGMA, ACMA, and MACostE.

When you were younger, what did you want to be?
I wanted to be an accountant. Which I became. But, it wasn’t quite what I’d hoped.
What’s your favourite thing about working at GSB?
My favourite thing about working at GSB is the strong sense of community and the incredible opportunities we create for our clients, our shareholders and the wider community we serve. It’s a place where everyone can grow and make a real impact.
Finally, what’s your favourite country and why?
Lapland. Ross and I were able to take the children there in 2022. It was an incredible experience. Highly recommended!
